Moving Services From Our Northern Kentucky Movers

Local Moves in Northern Kentucky and Across the River

Our local moving service covers houses, condos and apartments from Walton up to the riverfront, plus moves between Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati. Local rates run $95 to $110 per mover per hour, plus a one-hour travel charge. Your written estimate tells you how many movers we plan to send before you book.

Long-Distance Moves From Northern Kentucky

Leaving the Tri-State for good? Long-distance moving runs on a binding estimate built from your inventory and the distance, so the price is fixed before we load. Interstate moves come with guaranteed pickup and delivery dates. Heading south? We also have an office in Riverview, Florida.

Packing and Loading Help

Our packing services cover the whole house or just the kitchen and the fragile pieces, with quality boxes and materials. Already rented a truck or a portable container? We can send movers only to load or unload it.

Storage When Your Closing Dates Don’t Match

If your Ohio sale closes before your Kentucky keys are ready, we keep your furniture in secure, climate-controlled storage for a few weeks or a few months, then deliver everything once the new house is yours.

How Much Do Movers in Northern Kentucky Cost?

For a local move in Northern Kentucky, we typically charge $95 to $110 per mover per hour, plus a one-hour travel charge. Here is what that looks like by the number of movers on the job.

Movers Hourly rate
2 movers $190 to $220 per hour
3 movers $285 to $330 per hour
4 movers $380 to $440 per hour

These are rate ranges, not a quote. Your written estimate sets the number of movers and the price.

Term Details
Travel charge One hour, added to local moves
Deposit $250 for local moves, 25% of the estimate for interstate moves with a binding estimate. Deposits are non-refundable.
Estimates Free and in writing, hourly or binding, before you book
Payment The full amount is charged only after delivery. Card payments carry a 3% fee.

Three things move the total: stairs and long carries, how much you pack yourself, and the date. Weekends and the last days of the month fill first. A mid-week, mid-month date is easier to get and usually costs less.

Crossing the Ohio River on Moving Day

Brent Spence Bridge Construction

Work on the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor broke ground in May 2026 and will run for years. The bridge stays open, but ramps around I-71/75 in Covington are being rebuilt, and lane shifts and detours change as the work moves. We check current closures before moving day, so the arrival time on your schedule is realistic and nobody waits on a truck stuck in a work zone.

The Bridge a Moving Truck Can’t Use

The Roebling Suspension Bridge between Covington and downtown Cincinnati has an 11-ton weight limit, and a loaded moving truck stays off it. If you are moving between a Covington rowhouse and a downtown apartment, plan for a highway bridge crossing and a little extra drive time in the estimate.

Northern Kentucky Towns Our Movers Serve

We have moved households in Covington, Florence, Newport, Fort Thomas, Fort Wright, Dayton, Union, Park Hills and Walton. Each part of Northern Kentucky asks something different of moving day.

River Cities: Covington, Newport and Dayton

Newport’s East Row is Kentucky’s second-largest historic district, with roughly 1,100 homes, many of them 19th-century Italianate and Queen Anne houses. Older streets like these often mean tight front steps, narrow staircases and street parking only. Mention them when you book, so the estimate covers the carry and we know where the truck can stand. Moving in or out of Covington? See our page for Covington, KY movers.

Boone County: Florence, Union and Walton

South along the I-71/75 corridor, Boone County moves look different: newer subdivisions, wider streets and driveways the truck can back into. Many neighborhoods here have homeowners associations, so check whether yours limits move-in hours or truck parking before you pick a time. For more on the city itself, see our page on movers in Florence, KY.

Moving to Northern Kentucky From Ohio: Your First 30 Days

A move over the river is short, but it puts you under Kentucky rules. Put these on your list:

  • Register your car within 15 days. Kentucky law gives new residents 15 days to register with the county clerk where they live. A vehicle titled in another state needs a sheriff inspection first.
  • Switch your driver’s license within 30 days. Kentucky expects new residents to hold a Kentucky license within 30 days of moving in.
  • Get Kentucky insurance before the clerk visit. The clerk asks for proof of Kentucky coverage.

The state’s new to Kentucky page lists the documents for each step.
