Our Covington Moving Services
Moves Between Covington and Cincinnati
Moving between Covington and Cincinnati? Our local movers bill these by the hour, at $95 to $110 per mover per hour plus a one-hour travel charge, and we plan the bridge crossing around the traffic that day.
Older Homes and Apartments
Covington has about two dozen local historic districts, and older homes here often mean narrow stairs, tight doorways and furniture that has to come apart to get out. We pad and wrap every piece, take apart beds and tables, and put them back together at the new place. About half of Covington homes are rented, according to the Census Bureau, and apartment and condo moves are billed the same hourly way.
Office and Shop Moves
Downtown Covington has offices, studios and storefronts that can’t afford to lose a workday. Our commercial moving service plans your move around business hours to keep downtime short.
Packing
Our packing services cover a full house or just the fragile pieces, using quality boxes and materials. Tell us what you want packed, and it goes on your written estimate.
Storage Between Homes
If your Covington lease ends before your next place is ready, we keep your things in climate-controlled storage for a few weeks or a few months, then deliver them when you are ready to move in.
Long-Distance Moves From Covington
Leaving Kentucky altogether? Long-distance moves get a binding estimate based on your inventory and the distance, plus guaranteed pickup and delivery dates. We also have an office in Riverview, Florida, for moves south.
Covington Moving Costs
We typically charge $95 to $110 per mover per hour for a local move in Covington, plus one travel hour. Here is how a three-mover job adds up.
| Hours on the job | 3 movers, travel hour included |
|---|---|
| 3 hours | $1,140 to $1,320 |
| 4 hours | $1,425 to $1,650 |
| 5 hours | $1,710 to $1,980 |
This is a price guide, not a quote. Your estimate sets the number of movers, and a deposit of $250 holds a local moving date. Long-distance moves get a binding estimate instead, with a 25% deposit. We charge the full amount only after delivery.
Moving in Covington's Historic Neighborhoods
Licking Riverside
Licking Riverside was one of Covington’s first expansions past its original Sixth Street boundary, and it is full of Italianate and Second Empire houses. Older homes like these can mean front steps, tall stair runs and limited curb space. Tell us about them when you book, so the estimate covers the carry and we know where the truck can park.
MainStrasse Village and Seminary Square
MainStrasse sits between West Pike Street and I-75, and nearby Seminary Square has more than 150 homes built by the 1870s. Both are busy, walkable areas, and MainStrasse hosts weekend festivals, so an early weekday start is usually the easiest way to load.
Covington Road Closures That Change Moving Day
Fourth Street Bridge to Newport
The Fourth Street Bridge over the Licking River, the KY 8 link between Covington and Newport, closed on January 12, 2026 for replacement and is not expected to reopen until summer 2028. Moves between the two cities now detour over the 11th Street bridge, which adds a few minutes each way. We build that detour into the plan, so your arrival window stays accurate. The city keeps bridge replacement updates on its website.
Brent Spence Work on the West Side
Construction on the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor started in 2026, and the ramps around I-71/75 in Covington are being rebuilt with temporary connections and local detours. If you live near the interstate on the west side, give us a little flexibility on arrival time, and we will check the latest closures the day before your move.
