How We Price Your Long Distance Move
Every long distance move gets a free binding estimate, which is a fixed price for the services listed on your quote. We set it from your inventory, the distance and the services you choose, after an in-person or virtual survey of your home.
| What changes the price | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Shipment size | More furniture and boxes take more truck space and more time to load |
| Distance | A move to a neighboring state costs less than a cross-country move |
| Packing | Full packing adds materials and labor, while packing yourself lowers the total |
| Moving dates | Summer and the end of the month book up first |
| Access at both homes | Stairs, elevators and a long walk from the truck add time |
| Extra services | Storage and auto transport are added to the same estimate |
| Term | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Estimate | Free, binding and in writing before you book |
| Survey | In person or by video |
| Deposit | 25% of the estimate to hold your dates, non-refundable |

Long Distance Moving Questions
How much do long distance movers cost?
It depends on how much you are moving, how far it is going and which services you choose. We price every long distance move with a free binding estimate, so you know the full price before you book.
What is a binding estimate?
A binding estimate is a fixed price for the services listed on your quote. If nothing about the move changes, the price doesn’t either.
Are you a moving broker?
No. Robinson Relocations is a licensed carrier with USDOT #3320340 and MC #1056379, and our own movers handle your move from loading to delivery.
How far ahead should I book a long distance move?
Four to six weeks ahead is best. Summer weekends and the end of the month fill up first.
Can you store my belongings or ship my car?
Yes. We offer climate-controlled storage between homes and auto transport, both added to the same estimate as your move.
